Problem description

Efficient caking of fine-grained material is one of the key technological tasks in metallurgy. Small fractions of these materials are formed as a result of crushing, enrichment and processing of ores, and their use in its original form is difficult. One of the main difficulties is that the fine concentrate particles have low mechanical strength and a high reaction surface. This leads to significant losses of material due to its removal from the gas streams during the melting process. In addition, fine concentrates create problems with the uniformity of charge loading, impair the gas permeability of the layer and reduce the thermal efficiency of metallurgical units.
