Gallium is a rare and valuable metal that is used in various high-tech industries, including microelectronics, the manufacture of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), solar panels and semiconductor devices. One of the main sources of gallium production is aluminate-alkaline solutions, which are formed during the production of alumina from bauxite using the Bayer method.
