Uranium mining and processing
New production technologies
report and samples of coated impellers
In uranium production, the equipment is subjected to significant corrosion and mechanical stress, which leads to the annual replacement of about 10 impellers and 26 shafts. This not only increases operating costs, but also negatively affects production efficiency. The materials currently used have insufficient resistance to aggressive media, which makes their use limited. In this regard, there is a need to develop new solutions that will improve the performance of pumping equipment. The need to improve the reliability and productivity of pumping equipment in the uranium industry, confirmed by the need to reduce costs and improve operational reliability in aggressive chemical environments.
Expected results of the system implementation with achievable criteria, in particular %: - Increase the service life of the equipment by 50%. - Reduce repair and maintenance costs by 30%. - Increased pumping equipment productivity by 20%.

Purpose and description of task (project)
The aim of this project is to develop and implement protective and functional coating technologies that increase corrosion resistance and reduce wear on parts. In particular, the use of modern methods of gas thermal spraying, which will increase the service life of the pump bodies, reduce the frequency of their replacement and reduce maintenance costs.
