Purpose and description of task (project)
Development of an effective workload management system at marshalling yards to prevent overloads and eliminate the consequences of network congestion.
Software/ IS
The current model for calculating the workload at marshalling yards does not have the capacity to effectively manage and prevent overloads. When congestion occurs at one station, its impact is transmitted to neighboring marshalling yards, causing congestion throughout the network. Currently , the system does not have the necessary tools and technologies to eliminate or mitigate the effects of overloading due to excessive wagon traffic, which leads to widespread inefficiency and delays in the network.
An automated system for monitoring and managing railway traffic volumes, optimizing station capacity, and predicting potential congestion points. This solution should include advanced AI-based algorithms and models for predicting wagon flow, dynamically adjusting operational plans, and extracting and analyzing data from existing automated systems.
