Problem description

In the standard iiko system integration architecture, data exchange with external systems is carried out primarily through the iiko server. At the same time, a number of cash transactions require: immediate interaction with the external system until the completion of the operation at the checkout; receiving a synchronous response (permission, confirmation, etc.); executing logic that cannot be implemented after the operation has been performed on the server. As a result, the standard integration mechanism does not allow for the correct implementation of some scenarios, as: The data is first recorded in iiko, and only then can it be transferred to external systems.; there is no way to influence the course of a cash transaction based on the response of a third system.; The risk of data inconsistencies and business process disruptions increases. These limitations necessitated the development of a separate plug-in that works directly on the cash desks of the terminal.

Expected effect

ensure the correct implementation of cash register scenarios that require synchronous interaction with external systems; reduce the number of errors and data discrepancies between iiko and third-party services; increase the flexibility of integration and expand the possibilities of using iiko in non-standard business processes; reduce transaction processing time and improve the stability of cash terminals.

Purpose and description of task (project)

Creation of a plug-in for iiko cash terminals, which provides direct data exchange between the cashier and external (third-party) information systems with the ability to receive and process responses in near real time. The task is to implement a software module in c# .net that would allow: transfer data on cash transactions directly from the iiko cash terminal to external systems; receive responses from external systems and use them in the logic of cash transactions; circumvent the limitations of the standard iiko server integration in cases where serial data transmission through the iiko server is impossible or incorrect from the point of view of the business process.
