Modern mining planning practice is characterized by a number of significant limitations: • Manual methods are labor intensive and error-prone; • existing software packages are not flexible enough to adapt to the specifics of a particular field; • Current economic and logistical constraints are often not taken into account in strategic models. The analysis showed that the current methods do not provide: • Multi-criteria optimization; • full integration with digital geological models; • dynamic modeling of scenarios under changing external conditions (prices, cut-off, infrastructure, etc.). Thus, R&D is justified both from a scientific and practical point of view, and will lay the foundations for a new adaptive digital platform.
