Modern mining operations in a complex geomechanical environment require accurate and regular monitoring of the condition of the sides of the quarry, timely detection of deformation processes, risk assessment and industrial safety. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with 3D laser scanning (LiDAR) and high-precision photogrammetry allows for rapid, detailed and safe monitoring of the condition of mining dumps and dumps. The development of a specialized methodology and the implementation of such a monitoring system in mining practice ensures: • Improving the safety of mining operations; • Improved excavation planning and evaluation; • reduction of accidents and human factors; • integration of the received data into surveying and geodetic processes.
